Hello from the Passehls,

Wow, it is hard to imagine all that has happened in the last few months.  We started our year off by sending 70 teams to 38 different nations all around the world ministering the Gospel and serving those with great needs in practical ways as well.  These teams saw tremendous fruit and experienced a number of challenges and some emergencies that Cory was pulled in to help serve and lead out.  These outreaches are now done.  We received over 475 students in January and they have now been launched out to 43 teams and 34 nations.   One of our Discipleship Training Schools sent almost all of its teams  (over 70 girls) to a country in West Africa to begin their outreach.  They have been ministering to a group of about 100 widows and their families.   The husbands of these families were all martyred for their faith.    As Revelation 12:11 says “They triumphed over him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony; they did not love their lives so much as to shrink from death”.  These widows shared their testimonies of faith and perseverance and as they did, the Lord moved in reconciliation and many other amazing ways.   The lives of these students and the widows will never be the same as they have seen the Lord move.

On April 10 we welcomed 400 students from 40+ nations.  It is so exciting to have them all here doing Discipleship Training Schools and other University level Courses like our School of Biblical Studies, Digital Filmmaking School, Foundations in Maternal Health Ministry, and many other schools as well.  These students are all here to get trained up and then will be sent out this summer to go and minister all around the world.

This April Cory, Maria, Norah, and Hannah went to Mexico with a team of students and parents from the girls’ school.  They went to serve the youth and children there, share the bible stories they had internalized, and build a home for a family in need.  With our team of 19 people and the local staff, we were able to build a new home for a family.  This family now has hope for the future.  It touched our hearts so much to go and serve and give our all.   The team arrived home in Hawaii exhausted and sick but it was all worth it as everyone was so grateful.  For Cory and the girls, this was their third time building a home for a family and it is one of the most profound ways we have been able to serve in the nations in a short-term way.

Now we are back to our normal responsibilities. Brooke has wrapped up the homeschool year with Judah and enjoyed teaching the current 10-12-year-olds on campus in the Foundations School. Cory is helping to oversee the training at our campus and prepare this next group of April students to soon head out into the nations. Norah and Maria just finished their 8th grade year and we are praying about their next steps into high school here. Hannah finished 7th grade and is looking forward to another year with friends at school after a good summer break. We are coming to the mainland this summer and look forward to a downshift in the pace of our daily lives. We need a “Selah” break to refresh and hear from the Lord about the coming months.   We will be in Tennessee from the 19th of June to June 23rd.  Then Wisconsin from the 24th of June to 7th, then back in Tennessee from the 8th of July to July 21st.

Looking ahead in September Youth With A Mission will have a global gathering in the Philippines this year. YWAM is the largest missions organization globally with around 30,000 full-time missionaries like us serving in 180 nations. We are without a doubt scattered all over the world as we serve and train in many locations around the globe. This gathering for our global YWAM family will be the first after COVID and our first gathering since the passing of our founder, Loren Cunningham. As a family we have a desire to be in the Philippines to reconnect with friends serving in other locations, share testimonies of what God is doing around the nations, and hear from God together as a mission. We believe it is a key time for our family as well as YWAM. Will you pray with us about giving toward our goal of going together to the Philippines? We will need to raise $7500 for flights and lodging and conference fees.  If you would like to partner with us you can give in a variety of ways.
